Job description

As an Activity Instructor with Rockley, you will work closely with a great team to provide high-quality instruction in a variety of activities.

Rockley is excited to offer opportunities for motivated, enthusiastic, and driven individuals to take on the Activity Instructor role at our Buddens outdoor adventure centre. Located in the heart of the Purbecks, Buddens is a hidden gem offering a variety of exciting and exhilarating activities.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

1. Provide a high standard of instruction to all students within the group.
2. Instruct a variety of activities under the supervision of the Senior Team.
3. Deliver some evening entertainment activities as directed by the Senior Team.
4. Maintain standards of tuition and ensure group safety and welfare during activities.
5. Be a positive role model, demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
6. Promote self-control and independence among learners with high expectations of behavior.
7. Deliver activities in line with the Company’s standard operating procedures and local policies.
8. Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
9. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, raising concerns as per protocols.
10. Ensure clients and staff follow safety procedures and policies.
11. Implement feedback from monitoring and evaluation.
12. Carry out equipment checks as directed.
13. Maintain equipment inventory and ensure compliance with regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
14. Perform basic equipment maintenance or dispatch faulty equipment for repairs.
15. Assist with general centre duties such as kitchen tasks and cleaning facilities.

Experience, Skills & Abilities

1. Experience working in a team environment preferred.
2. Experience working with young people preferred.
3. Experience in an activity centre environment is advantageous.
4. Ability to motivate others.
5. Flexible and professional approach.
6. Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
7. Desire to progress and learn.

Qualifications

Essential

• Current First Aid Certificate.

Hold One Of The Following Qualifications

• ERCA High Ropes Instructor
• BC Paddlesport Instructor Award

Desirable

• ERCA Generic Rescuer
• BC Sheltered Water Coach
• Archery GB Instructor Award
• NSRA YPS Tutor
• Full UK Driving License
