Job description

Penkridge Middle School is a thriving and inclusive school at the heart of the community, supporting pupils aged 9 to 13. We are proud to offer a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and flourish.

We are currently looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliableOut of School Club Play Leaderto run our before and after school provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a fun and supportive environment outside of the classroom.

As the Play Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of engaging activities for pupils, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. You will lead the club independently, supported by the school team, and play a key role in building positive relationships with children and their families.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of a similar age group and will be confident in managing a small group setting. A relevant qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related discipline, is desirable, although equivalent experience will also be considered. Basic numeracy and literacy skills are essential, and First Aid training—particularly in paediatrics—is preferred; however, training can be provided if needed.

This is a part-time, term-time only position, with working hours split between mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, and an earlier finish on Fridays. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment outside of the traditional school day.
