Overview

This role is an exciting opportunity which has come about due to the increasing workload supporting the business support officers within the Professional Development Team of the Organ and Tissue Donation Directorate of NHSBT. You will undertake a full induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions. This role provides an excellent level of experience working primarily on administration of education and training courses for medical and nursing staff as well as the day-to-day support of the Professional Development team. The role is a great opportunity for anyone with a general administrative background who wants to develop their career.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake administration and clerical duties in support of the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation (OTDT).
  • Ensure all records are up to date and accurate.
  • Input data onto Excel spreadsheets.
  • Receive and make telephone calls.
  • Deal with queries and requests in relation to education and training courses.
  • Undertake routine correspondence.
  • Book hotels, travel etc.
  • Maintain manual and electronic filing systems.
  • General office duties such as minute taking, photocopying and scanning documents.
Travel, leave and benefits
  • You may be required to undertake occasional travel and potential overnight stays to meet the requirements of the post (notice will be given). This is usually around 3-4 times per year.
  • 27 days annual leave (pro rata for part-time) plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 29 days after 5 years’ service and to 33 days after 10 years.
  • NHS pension scheme. The NHS Pension Scheme is a defined benefit scheme (not dependent on investment returns).

Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience of dealing with confidential matters.
  • Experience of servicing formal meetings.
  • Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), or equivalent systems.
Qualifications and Training
  • NQV Level 3 or equivalent experience of working in an Office/Administrator post.

Salary: 24,937 to 26,598 per annum pro-rata
