Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated OT security Technician to join our team at RWE, a leading power generation company. This position will focus on securing OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the safe, reliable and secure operations of our power station. You will be responsible for protecting critical assets from cyber threats and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Implement the OT Security Strategy at RWE Generation with a focus on power plants, and deliver site-wide security improvements including patching, AV updates, and physical system checks.
  • Support power station operations of the ISMS, including risk analyses, audits, monitoring of measures, and effectiveness checks.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments and maintain system security through regular vulnerability reviews and life cycle management.
  • Report on the status of security measures, incidents, and vulnerabilities across the site.
  • Collaborate with central teams to address and resolve OT security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide day-to-day maintenance support for DCS and C&I engineering/technical systems.
  • Assist in fault diagnosis and breakdown recovery related to Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Work with key stakeholders to uphold cyber governance and ensure operational resilience.

Job requirements and experience

  • Hold a minimum Level-3 Engineering qualification (e.g. BTEC, NVQ, ONC) with knowledge of OT infrastructures and OT application architectures.
  • Knowledge of power plant operations, communication systems, and regulatory standards such as CAF and ISO/27001 is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA and Security+ are highly desirable.
  • Completion of SC Vetting or a willingness to undergo the vetting process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high integrity and a clear team orientation.
  • Business fluent in English; Dutch and German language skills are desirable.
  • Proficient in business IT systems and experienced with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Demonstrates professionalism, technical capability, and adaptability in a collaborative, security-focused environment.
  • An expected starting salary from £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience and up to 10% annual bonus
