Job Title: OT/IT Engineer (12 Month FTC - Strong Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid - 1-2 days working from home)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + 5% bonus
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an OT/IT Engineer (Operational Technology Engineer) to join a leading food manufacturing business on a 12-month fixed term contract, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent at the end of the contract. This hybrid role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge operational technology (OT) and IT infrastructure, playing a vital role in the smooth operation and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems.
You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining both IT and OT systems, working across factory automation, network infrastructure, cyber security, and data analysis. The role will give you exposure to the latest technologies while providing plenty of scope for professional development.

Key Responsibilities
• Support and maintain factory automation systems (primarily Siemens).
• Manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi (Switches, WLC, APs), and servers (VM hosts, Nutanix).
• Oversee PC terminals, printers, PDAs, and other connected devices, ensuring operational effectiveness.
• Implement and maintain OT cyber security measures to protect production systems.
• Analyse production data (PLC's) to identify trends, anomalies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with production teams to streamline processes and maximise system performance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners such as Siemens, Cisco, Ricoh, Lenovo and others.
• Manage third-party support contracts and ensure system resilience.
• Participate in IT/OT infrastructure projects, from planning through to delivery.

Key Skills & Experience
• Experience managing and maintaining IT & OT systems within a manufacturing or regulated environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across IT networks, infrastructure, operational technology, and systems.
• Experience with Siemens automation systems (or equivalent PLCs).
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure: servers, networks, Wi-Fi, and virtualisation platforms.
• Experience managing third-party vendors and support providers.
• Project management experience on IT or OT-related projects.
• Awareness of emerging technologies such as IoT, Wi-Fi 6, Edge Computing, and 5G is highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
