Job summary

Smith & Nephew is seeking a senior OT cybersecurity leader to own and drive the global programme across our manufacturing technologies. You will provide governance, risk oversight, and technical leadership to OT environments, ensuring alignment with IEC 62443 and NIST frameworks.

Based in the UK with hybrid working arrangements, you will collaborate with OT architecture and engineering teams, guide secure modernisation at sites, and act as the cybersecurity lead for major OT projects to embed

• Strong experience in OT or industrial cybersecurity within manufacturing or critical infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of our global OT cybersecurity programme and set the direction for how it is embedded into our manufacturing technologies
• Define governance, lead risk management activities and provide technical oversight across OT environments
• Ensure alignment with standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST frameworks
• Collaborate closely with OT architecture and engineering teams to influence design decisions and support secure modernisation initiatives across manufacturing sites
• Act as the cybersecurity lead for major OT projects and ensure security by design is applied from the outset
• Coordinate incident response activities and ensure rapid and effective handling of OT security events
• Build strong partnerships across regions and functions to embed cybersecurity into everyday operations

Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience in OT or industrial cybersecurity within manufacturing or critical infrastructure environments, with a clear understanding of ICT technologies and risks
• Proven ability to lead programmes and influence across engineering, IT and business stakeholders without direct control of implementation teams
• Solid knowledge of recognised frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800 82, NIST CSF and ISO standards
• Experience leading teams and developing capability while fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
• Ability to communicate clearly at all levels, build trust quickly and guide decision making where operational risk, compliance and innovation must be balanced

The role is full time and based in UK - Watford, with candidate information for Poland including an anticipated gross annual base compensation range of 251 000–376 250 PLN.
