Job Description:

The OT Cyber Security Consultant will be a key technical asset, managing the delivery of OT cybersecurity consultancy services for high-hazard industries, including oil and gas, power, water, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. Reporting to the OT Cyber Security Team Leader, the Consultant will take full ownership of strategic projects, provide technical guidance, and steer strategic discussions with clients to develop tailored cybersecurity solutions.

This role demands expertise in operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, project management skills, and thought leadership to inspire clients and internal teams. The Consultant has business development responsibilities, including developing a professional network, identifying growth opportunities, collaborating with clients to create proposals, and delivering exceptional results.

The Consultant will also mentor junior team members, manage larger project teams, and continuously improve service delivery, all while aligning with TÜV Rheinland's vision and business objectives.

This hybrid work role requires some travel within the UK to effectively engage with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of OT cybersecurity projects, such as site audits, regulatory compliance assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Create, review, and implement OT Cyber Security Management Systems (CSMS) aligned with organisational objectives, market needs, and key industry standards, including IEC 62443, CAF, OG86, and NIS.
  • Deliver innovative, tailored cybersecurity strategies to address unique client business and technical needs, balancing short-term improvements with long-term objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in the creation, design, review, and validation of network diagrams, system architectures, and asset inventories for OT environments, including Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Act as an advisor to clients, leading strategic discussions and guiding the development of their OT cybersecurity roadmaps to build resilience and compliance.
  • Proactively build and maintain a key professional network of potential and current clients, leveraging relationships to identify business development opportunities and high-value growth.
  • Develop and lead high-impact proposals, create project scopes, and oversee the delivery of commercial solutions that exceed client and company expectations.
  • Develop long-term partnerships with clients by understanding and addressing their unique needs, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying future opportunities for collaboration.
  • Manage and lead larger project teams, encouraging collaboration and commitment while providing structured mentoring to enhance the technical and professional development of less experienced team members.
  • Stay at the forefront of OT cybersecurity trends, regulatory developments, competitor innovations, and emerging threats, and incorporate valuable insights into project delivery and consultative strategies.
  • Actively contribute to TÜV Rheinland’s thought leadership through participation in industry forums, conventions, and conferences, further strengthening the organisation’s reputation and presence in the market.
  • Continuously improve internal processes, methodologies, and delivery quality standards, enhancing department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor resource utilisation, manage project budgets effectively, and ensure strategic alignment with organisational goals.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of technical delivery experience, including experience gained in OT cybersecurity roles within high-hazard sectors such as oil and gas, power, water, chemicals, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage larger project teams and mentor junior-level team members, providing actionable feedback and ensuring high standards of delivery.
  • Skill in exceeding challenging objectives, delivering impactful results, and managing commercial contributions while achieving growth targets.
  • Experience providing consulting services, including managing client relationships, designing tailored solutions, and guiding strategic implementations.
