Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking an proactive OT Engineer to design, develop and optimise OT solutions across Production assets. You will work with Operations and Technical teams to improve site reliability, reduce energy use and enhance water quality and safety.

You will lead OT system improvements, implement minor OT/ICS projects, and mentor colleagues while ensuring rigorous change control and secure operations.

Qualifications

• Experience working in OT or industrial IT.
• Experience in PLC/HMI programming and SCADA development.
• Experience working to and from project/engineering documentation.
• Advanced understanding of Industrial Control Systems.
• Experienced in PLC, SCADA and HMI design/modification/integration.
• Advanced understanding of OT communications and networking.
• Ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (SC).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist EICA/OT support and technical expertise across water treatment works and associated Network assets.
• Lead the delivery of OT system improvements and optimisations for reliable production operations.
• Implement minor OT/ICS projects and upgrade OT assets.
• Improve production output, resilience and reliability through process changes.
• Share knowledge via training, mentoring and technical guidance.
• Support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing to ensure delivery to standard.
• Commission OT works and handover to operation.
• Maintain change control for electronic documents, software, PLC/HMI/SCADA/GeoSCADA files.
• Monitor OT cyber security and protect critical environments.
• Carry out fault finding on Industrial Control Systems and resolve issues.
