Job summary

Réalta Technologies is seeking an experienced OT Automation Engineer to support our Medical Device client based in Leeds, UK. The role requires leading automation projects and managing a small team to ensure integration of automation systems with advanced plant systems such as MES and PI.

The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in automation engineering, strong expertise in PLC programming (preferably Allen Bradley), and a robust understanding of IT systems including networking and cybersecurity.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, with strong expertise in manufacturing equipment, PLC (preferably Allen Bradley), and IT systems. This role requires a technical leader who can also manage a small team, ensuring seamless integration of automation systems with higher-level plant systems like MES and PI.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee automation projects from concept to completion.
• Design, program, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems, with a preference for Allen Bradley.
• Ensure seamless integration of automation systems with MES, Pi, and other higher-level plant systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing equipment for improved efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and manage a small team of automation engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Maintain and improve IT infrastructure related to automation, ensuring robust networking and cybersecurity practices.
• Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and system architecture.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming (Allen Bradley preferred).
• Familiarity with a range of manufacturing equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in IT systems and networking, including cybersecurity considerations.
