North London NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Band 4 OT Assistant Practitioner to join the Older Adults and Rehab wards at Highgate East Mental Health Centre. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on assessment, treatment and care of service users.

You will contribute to the therapeutic programme, deliver planned interventions, and support administrative duties while developing your career in mental health through the Trust's development

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mental health legislation.
• Understanding of the role of occupational therapy in mental health.
• Awareness of impact of mental health conditions on functioning.
• Risk assessment and management.
• Good communication and group facilitation skills.
• Adaptability.
• Min 1 year experience in mental health inpatient wards.
• Experience helping people access community activities and organisations.
• Experience working with service users with low motivation and dual diagnosis.

Responsabilités

• The post holder, with OT Team support, will assess, treat and care for service users on the wards.
• Contribute to the therapeutic group programme and planned individual interventions.
• Provide administrative support and maintain Health and Safety compliance.
• Act as Infection Control Champion and oversee the OT equipment store.
• Support social inclusion, recovery and service user engagement within a multi-disciplinary team.
