NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an Orthotist to join the Orthotic Service within the Acute Division, Clyde Sector. We are looking to recruit an Orthotist to join the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Orthotic Service within the Acute Division, Clyde Sector. The post holder will provide specialist orthotic assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for patients with a wide range of conditions across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting patients to improve mobility, function and quality of life. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. 36 Hours (Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm)
The Orthotist is responsible for managing a defined clinical caseload and providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for patients with a diverse range of orthotic needs. Working autonomously within professional guidelines and HCPC standards, the post holder will undertake orthotic interventions, prescribe and fit orthotic devices, monitor patient progress and evaluate outcomes. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care, supporting health promotion initiatives and contributing to service development. The successful candidate will supervise and support Orthotic Technicians, Clinical Assistants and students, participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activities, provide education and training to colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of evidence-based practice across the service.
