Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer for OHG Surgical Hub in Scunthorpe on a part-time basis (10 hours per week). The role focuses on postoperative orthopaedic X-rays and mobile C-arm imaging within theatre settings, contributing to the establishment of a new imaging service.

The ideal candidate will have orthopaedic imaging experience, competence with C-arm fluoroscopy, and strong knowledge of IR(ME)R, dose optimisation, and radiation protection.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and eligibility to practice.
• Experience in orthopaedic imaging and postoperative X-rays.
• Competence with mobile C-arm fluoroscopy during procedures.
• Knowledge of IR(ME)R, dose optimisation and radiation protection.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a theatre environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform postoperative orthopaedic X-rays and intra-operative imaging.
• Operate mobile C-arm fluoroscopy safely in theatre.
• Check patient identity and imaging requests per procedures.
• Adhere to IR(ME)R and justified imaging pathways.
• Maintain imaging records and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with theatre and ward teams to coordinate imaging.
• Support imaging service establishment in the new surgical hub.
