We have a new opportunity available for an Orthodontic Therapist to join our established and well-regarded specialist team at Portman Smile Clinic Ilkley, LS29 8PB on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract.

Portman Smile Clinic Ilkley is a specialist orthodontic clinic. We opened our modern, 3 surgery specialist practice in April 2022 and are now seeking an Orthodontic Therapist to join the team to support with maternity cover.

Portman Smile Clinic Ilkley is one of 70 specialist orthodontic clinics within the Portman Dentex group, making us the leading orthodontic provider in the UK. The practice has fantastic feedback from patients with a 5* Google rating.

You will be working with Consultant, Trevor Hodge. In 2007, Trevor co-founded the first UK course to train Orthodontic Therapists and in 2015 he was appointed Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in Orthodontics at the University of Leeds. Since 2007, Trevor has also been active in private practice and in 2018 he achieved European Board Orthodontist accreditation and won the BOS Maurice Berman Prize for Clinical Excellence for the second time.

We can offer:

1. 1 day per week with surgery space available on either Mondays or Tuesdays, hours to be discussed – for example, flexibility around childcare can be discussed / long days.
2. Start date July 2025, end date July 2026.
3. You will be joining an established and highly experienced team consisting of 2 Specialist Orthodontists, 4 qualified Nurses, and you will be one of 3 Orthodontic Therapists.
4. A modern, purpose-built practice which includes: iTero scanner, Digital X Ray, OPT Machine, and Ceph machine.
5. You will be working directly with a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Orthodontist, Trevor Hodge.
6. A fantastic opportunity to join this specialist practice. Accessing the practice: The clinic is based inside the International Development centre, on the ground floor and there is free parking on site.
7. The practice is also within walking distance of two train stations, Ilkley and Ben Rhydding with regular services.
