Job summary

TipTopJob in Ashford is seeking a qualified Orthodontic Therapist to join our dental team. You will work under the prescription of a Specialist Orthodontist to deliver high-quality orthodontic care and support to patients.

Key duties include carrying out treatments, placing and adjusting archwires and brackets, taking impressions and scans, fitting bands, removing appliances, and providing oral hygiene guidance. You will maintain records and ensure infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a GDC-recognised Orthodontic Therapy qualification.
• Current GDC registration or eligible to register.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out orthodontic treatments under the prescription of an orthodontist or dentist.
• Place and adjust orthodontic archwires, brackets, and other appliances.
• Take dental impressions, intraoral scans, and clinical photographs.
• Fit orthodontic bands and attachments as prescribed.
• Remove orthodontic appliances and prepare teeth surfaces after treatment.
• Provide oral hygiene advice and instructions on maintaining orthodontic appliances.
• Monitor treatment progress and report concerns to the supervising orthodontist.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and patient documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance standards.

Essential Requirements

• Qualification in Orthodontic Therapy recognised by the General Dental Council.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience working in an orthodontic practice.
• Knowledge of digital orthodontic systems and intraoral scanners.
