Aurora Energy Research is looking for a Manager for the Origin Model Development team in Oxford. The candidate will oversee a team of 15–20 engineers, ensuring delivery and maintaining engineering standards.

Key responsibilities include leadership of the team, managing performance, and improving delivery practices. The position demands a balance of management skills and technical credibility within engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of managing mixed technical teams.
• A software engineering background with experience in production code.
• Hands-on experience implementing Agile / Continuous Delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain a high-performing team that feels supported and challenged.
• Lead the team’s senior engineers, conduct performance reviews, and manage career development.
• Own delivery across 3–4 squads, ensure sprint cadence and capacity planning.
