We are looking for an experience Organisational Risk Manager to join FSCS on an 8-month fixed term contract.

Reporting into the Head of Risk and Compliance, the successful role holder will ensure risk data quality and develop and maintain strategically relevant, timely, and reliable management information for the Board and Executive, covering the entirety of FSCS Risk Profile.

Key Priorities

  • Lead, manage, maintain and improve the Risk Management Framework by gathering feedback, performing independent research on best practices and proposing changes to the Head of Risk & Compliance.
  • Ensure the risk management framework remains appropriate and proportionate to support the effective management of risks and issues.
  • Provide advice and partner with business functions' management to provide leadership, guidance, support and challenge to ensure the effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework across the organisation.
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements in reporting processes: contribute to enhancements in risk management processes and the Scheme's Risk Management Framework, to increase efficiency and accuracy in report production.
  • Contribute to the wider success of the Risk & Compliance Team through the development of the Risk & Resilience Lifecycle.
  • Work with key stakeholders across the business to deliver high quality risk reporting to the Risk Owners, Executive and Board.
  • Define and execute performance, event and action reporting to drive efficiencies and inform risk reviews.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to create and maintain effective relationships across the three lines of defence and interact with senior stakeholders throughout the business.
  • Ability to research, evidence and recommend improvements to risk management practices.
  • Ability to manage and grow people to achieve the assigned priorities.
  • Relevant Risk Management qualification.
  • Excellent presentational and communications skills; oral, written, report writing.
  • Advanced organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data.
  • A working knowledge of Business Continuity and Incident/Crisis Management would be an advantage.
