Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of the Corporate learning framework and training.
  • Co-creates and delivers face-to-face training to support the Organisational Development programme.
  • Works with Managers to ensure learning sessions meet industry standards and staff needs.

Skills

Organisational Development Officer

1 x Permanent Position

2 x Fixed Term Contracts until March 2027

Wokingham Borough Council has opportunities for passionate and enthusiastic Organisation Development Officers to join us on a permanent or fixed-term basis.

We are a highly ambitious Council embarking on a significant period of transformation in Organisational Development. These roles will support the development and implementation of the corporate learning framework and training offer. Co-designing and delivering training programmes across the Council will be integral, ensuring high-quality training for all.

The role will support our People Strategy, including tools and interventions to help the council achieve its strategic ambitions, covering programmes such as culture, performance management, leadership, and development.

Experience of working within a local government setting is highly advantageous, as is being an accredited Insights Practitioner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and implementation of the Council's Corporate learning framework and training offer.
  • Co-creates training packages and delivers face-to-face training to support the Organisational Development programme, fostering a learning culture across the Council.
  • Works with Managers and teams to ensure learning sessions are coherent, accessible, and meet industry standards and staff needs.
  • Designs and uses tools to evaluate the impact of learning initiatives, conducting regular monitoring and review.
  • Acts as the Council's Subject Matter Expert in developing content and supporting learning management systems and platforms.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree-level or equivalent relevant professional qualifications or expertise
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience delivering face-to-face training with some hybrid options
  • Experience with learning management systems, e-learning, and system maintenance
