Are you equally confident rolling up your sleeves to design impactful learning programmes as you are setting the strategic direction for organisational capability?

My client is looking for an experienced Organisational Development Partner who can combine hands-on practitioner expertise with strategic leadership. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both creating and delivering learning programmes and steering the long-term people capability agenda; including mentoring, coaching, development, succession planning, and management and leadership growth.

About the Role

Reporting to senior HR leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping organisational culture, capability, and employee experience.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team across learning, OD, engagement, and inclusion, ensuring programmes are not only well-designed and engaging but also aligned to business strategy. You’ll provide strategic oversight of the entire L&D function, identifying what the organisation needs to succeed now and in the future, while still getting involved as a practitioner to design and deliver in-house solutions.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Organisational Development & Culture

  • Design and deliver culture and behaviour change strategies.

  • Partner with senior leaders to embed values and foster behavioural change.

  • Lead leadership and team effectiveness interventions.

Learning, Capability & Succession

  • Set the direction for organisational learning and development strategy.

  • Design and deliver management and leadership programmes, balancing immediate needs with long-term growth.

  • Create structured pathways for mentoring, coaching, and career development.

  • Lead initiatives in succession planning and workforce capability, ensuring future readiness.

Operational Learning & Systems

  • Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) and engaging e-learning content.

  • Ensure compliance training is delivered effectively and tracked accurately.

  • Monitor outcomes and use data to refine learning solutions.

Engagement & Inclusion

  • Lead employee engagement strategies, including surveys and recognition programmes.

  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), ensuring inclusive practices are embedded throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Oversee onboarding programmes that create an exceptional new starter experience.

About You

My client is looking for someone who brings both vision and execution. You will have:

  • Significant experience in OD, learning, and culture roles with strategic impact.

  • A proven track record in designing and delivering leadership and management programmes.

  • The ability to lead and inspire a team, while also being comfortable as a practitioner who can design and facilitate learning yourself.

  • Strong strategic thinking – able to assess organisational needs, set direction, and drive initiatives in mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and capability development.

  • Experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders, embedding cultural and behavioural change.

  • Knowledge of EDI strategy and its integration into learning and culture.

  • Experience with digital learning platforms, LMS management, and compliance training.

  • Postgraduate qualification in OD, HR, Psychology, or CIPD Level 7.
