Job description

£11.80 per hour – £12.38 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Working on a condensed rota pattern, working from 7.15am – 9.45pm on a two on four off basis (plus 3 sleep ins per month).

About Orchard End…

Orchard End is a community-based residential home for six adults, providing specialist support for people with learning difficulties, as well as visual impairments, deafness, and epilepsy. We pride ourselves on providing a happy environment, person-centred support, and a range of activities for our residents to enjoy. Our staff and service users regularly go swimming, do pottery, and engage with our local community at church, garden centres, the library, coffee mornings, and social clubs.

What does the role of Support Worker involve?

You will provide any support required to the residents of Orchard End, which can include personal care, administering medication, teaching life skills, completing paperwork, and arranging activities.

While this role can be challenging at times, and there is a lot to learn, we offer a robust induction programme that will equip you to provide exceptional care. Existing staff members are also more than happy to support you in your journey to become an exceptional social care practitioner.

The training provided is specific to our residents’ needs, and you will attend ongoing training in areas including Safeguarding Adults, First Aid, Autism Awareness, Epilepsy Awareness, and many more.

What experience do you need?

No experience is required – we provide full training!

You will however need:

  1. To be available to work shifts that include evenings & weekends
  2. A full driving licence due to our rural location
  3. A friendly and caring nature
  4. A genuine desire to provide the best standard of care
