Job description

The Role - Oral Surgery Coordinator/Receptionist - Angle House Chingford (E4 8HX)

We are looking for an Oral Surgery Coordinator/Receptionist, who wants to be a big part of the Angle House success story. Our Dental Nurses and Oral Surgeons rely on the Oral Surgery Coordinator/Receptionist to assist with a range of administrative tasks while providing fantastic patient care to our patients.

In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our oral surgery department, ensuring seamless booking processes and playing a key part in meeting our NHS contractual obligations. You will also contribute to the smooth running of our general reception, providing essential support to our patients and the wider dental team.

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. While the standard working week will be Monday to Friday, there will be a requirement to work two Saturdays per month. We also understand the importance of work-life balance and are committed to offering flexibility where possible.

Main duties:

  • Efficiently managing the oral surgery appointment schedule, including booking new appointments, rescheduling, and confirming patient attendance.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for oral surgery patients via phone and email, providing clear and helpful information.
  • Updating and maintaining patients' records.
  • Liaising with referring dentists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to our NHS oral surgery contract and assisting with any necessary reporting.
  • Managing the general appointment book and assisting with patient check-in and check-out.
  • Processing payments and handling patient accounts.
  • Providing a warm and professional welcome to all patients at the practice.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Oral Surgery is desirable.
  • Previous dental receptionist experience in a quality environment is essential.
  • Genuine interest in patient wellbeing, patient care and treatment journey.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and ideally familiar with dental practice management software (DoIt/Exact).
  • A proactive and can-do attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
