Are you a motivated health promoter eager to address health inequalities? We are seeking an Oral Health Promoter to work in our Dental Service, delivering oral health promotion advice and training to the population of Sussex.
The Oral Health Promotion team focuses on supporting and improving health outcomes for vulnerable communities in the county. We aim to meet key performance indicators by providing advice and support to meet community needs in Sussex, and offer training and support to other health, social, and childcare professionals in line with best practice guidelines. We are the sole provider rolling out the supervised tooth brushing scheme in Sussex.
Interviews are expected to be held on 21st July. Shortlisted applicants would be asked to deliver a short presentation on: How I successfully implemented a change.

The Oral Health Promotion Team is part of SCFT's community Dental Services, offering specialized dental care, emergency out-of-hours provision, and oral health education and promotion. The team, based at the Brighton Special Care Dental clinic, works flexibly to support the wider dental service network, with links to public health colleagues and support from Brighton and Hove City Council and Sussex County Councils.
The Oral Health Promoter supports the Team Lead in delivering contractual targets and activities to meet KPIs and community needs. Responsibilities include developing resources, delivering oral health promotion activities, recording and evaluating activities, and training health and social care professionals across Sussex.

Key responsibilities include maintaining specialist knowledge on oral diseases, health policy, health promotion, and social determinants; training staff; developing health alliances; liaising with agencies; reviewing and auditing programs; and monitoring activity against KPIs.
