A leading NHS organization is seeking an Oral Health Improvement Practitioner to enhance dental health among various populations in Manchester. Responsibilities include reducing health inequalities, delivering training, and collaborating with health services. Based within the Oral Health Improvement Team, the successful applicant will be responsible for participating with the planning, quality assurance, delivery, training and evaluation of the Supervised Toothbrushing Project, and other oral health improvement programmes within the agreed service specification.
The successful applicant should have good organisational, social and communication skills and patience to influence clinical and non-clinical teams and a variety of other groups. You should also have a full understanding of the current evidence base of prevention and oral health improvement, health promotion models and an awareness of the needs of a multi-racial, multi-cultural, socially diverse society. A post-qualification is desirable.
The main purpose of the role it to:-
o Reduce oral health and social inequality across Manchester
o Improve the oral health status of the 0-19 age population residing in Manchester.
o Integrate and embed oral health promotion into the agenda's and policies of Health, Social Care, Sure Start, Schools and Early Years settings across Manchester.
o Improve or maintain the oral health of older and vulnerable people residing in nursing, residential and care settings.
o Deliver programmes in-line with the service specification across Manchester.
o Facilitate and deliver training courses in own area of expertise
o Collaborate and work in partnership, developing and strengthening professional working relationships to improve health outcomes.
