Job description

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Dental Nurse to work full-time in our growing oral and maxillofacial surgery department. The role involves supporting the remaining Head and Neck specialties such as ophthalmology and ENT as needed. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and possess excellent communication skills, with a love of people and a commitment to patient-centered care.

This position is suited for a highly motivated individual capable of understanding patients with dental phobias and complex needs. The ability to work well within a team, along with strong communication, organizational, and dexterity skills, is essential.

The main site for this role is the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, with potential to support staffing across Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist consultants and colleagues across all specialties.
  2. Contribute to efficient and effective patient care following best practices and guidelines.
  3. Maintain the highest hygiene standards in line with Trust policies.
  4. Prepare clinical areas with specialist equipment and supplies for clinics, ensuring smooth department operations, including checking results and coordinating with other departments.
  5. Support Maxillofacial theatre lists in the Treatment Centre.
  6. If qualified, perform dental radiological examinations following Radiological Guidelines.
