Job summary

CGI Group Inc. in London, United Kingdom, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with Oracle experience to support and enhance novel software solutions. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and scalable operations within a modern CI/CD framework.

You'll work with OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, and multiple cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI) in a Linux environment, applying automation (Ansible) and gaining exposure to AI toolchains. Expect collaboration in a global IT services context.

Qualifications

Experience supporting and enhancing applications with reliability and security.
Oracle DBA experience with PL/SQL development.
Experience with containers/orchestration: OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes.
Public cloud experience (AWS, OCI, Azure, GCP) and automation/CI/CD.
Linux scripting and administration; Git usage.
Willingness to learn new technologies including AI toolchain.
Automation/configuration management experience (Ansible).
Understanding of NoSQL stores such as ElasticSearch.

Responsibilities

Support and enhance applications, maintain reliability and security; perform incident response and root-cause analysis.
Apply Oracle PL/SQL development where required.
Utilize container platforms (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud automation.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and broader automation efforts.
Operate in a Linux development and production environment; manage packages and networking.
Use Git for version control; explore AI toolchains as needed.
Leverage NoSQL stores like ElasticSearch where applicable.

Secure Innovation is part of CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focused primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for the government agencies most challenging problems. Our teams work alongside our clients to help them understand how to exploit technologies to maintain competitive advantage. Our systems are engineered for performance, security, reliability and scalability; built with modern CI and CD tooling and techniques. We are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with prior Oracle experience to help with the support and enhancement of novel software solutions - being able to think outside of the box to overcome technical challenges is essential!

Experience of supporting and enhancing applications; maintaining reliability and security; incident response and root cause analysis.
Experience of Oracle ideally as a DBA and with PL/SQL development.
Experience of Containers and Orchestration: OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes
Experience of public cloud technologies (AWS, OCI, Azure and GCP) and automation, including CI/CD pipelines and IC.
Experience of using Linux for scripting and as day to day development environment - e.g. has experience of package management, networking configuration etc and wider system administration.
Experience using Git
Enthusiasm to learn new technologies quickly, including the AI toolchain
Experience of automation/configuration management (i.e. Ansible)
Understanding of NoSQL Object Stores, e.g. ElasticSearch

Security Clearance: Must be UK national - and either hold, or willing to gain higher level Security Cleared (SC).
