Job summary

Network IT Recruitment Limited is seeking an Oracle HCM Functional Expert to support and optimise Oracle HCM systems within a centralised IT team. The role focuses on maintenance, testing, configuration, data analysis and user support for HR and Payroll processes across a large organisation.

The successful candidate will work on quarterly Oracle releases, incident resolution, and system improvements, with a hybrid pattern (2 days on-site in Birmingham) and a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting business systems, applications, or enterprise software platforms.
• Experience investigating production issues and troubleshooting system-related problems.
• Experience supporting testing, UAT, or system release activities.
• Experience maintaining system documentation, process guides, or knowledge bases.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration and maintenance of Oracle HCM systems
• Resolve Level 2 support incidents, troubleshooting configuration, process, and data-related issues
• Manage requests for positions, work schedules, and system updates
• Support quarterly Oracle releases, upgrades, and regression testing activities
• Prepare test data, execute test scripts, record outcomes, and provide test evidence
• Create and maintain documentation, process maps, knowledge articles, and SOPs
• Investigate and resolve data quality issues, ensuring data integrity is maintained
• Work with stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party support providers to resolve system issues
• Develop reports and support BI requirements
• Provide end-user support and contribute to training activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes

Role: Oracle HCM Functional Expert

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 Days Per Week On-Site)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Network IT are working with a large and highly respected organisation to recruit a Oracle HCM Functional Expert to join their centralised system team.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with experience supporting Oracle HCM or enterprise business systems who is looking to further develop their career in applications support, testing, configuration, and system optimisation. You'll play a key role in supporting critical HR and Payroll systems used across a large and complex organisation.

Role Overview

As a Junior Functional Expert, you will support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and optimisation of Oracle HCM systems, working closely with Functional Experts, business stakeholders, and third-party support providers.

The role combines system support, testing, data analysis, configuration, and user support activities. You'll be involved in quarterly Oracle releases, regression testing, incident resolution, and improvement initiatives, helping ensure business-critical systems operate effectively and efficiently.

This is well suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting issues, working with data, supporting end users, and developing their knowledge of enterprise HR and Payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the administration and maintenance of Oracle HCM systems

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working with Oracle HCM Cloud or a similar enterprise HR system


• Experience supporting business systems, applications, or enterprise software platforms


• Experience investigating production issues and troubleshooting system-related problems


• Experience supporting testing, UAT, or system release activities


• Experience maintaining system documentation, process guides, or knowledge bases


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data


• Good organisational and administrative skills


• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills


• Competent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel


• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively


• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting Oracle quarterly updates and releases


• Experience coordinating Oracle Service Requests (SRs)


• Experience creating or maintaining technical configurations


• Experience within HR, Payroll, Higher Education, or other large complex environments


• Exposure to ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management platforms
