Company Introduction
A large enterprise requires a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert in Inventory Planning and Forecasting with deep expertise in Oracle E-business Suite (EBS), specifically Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) and Inventory Management modules, for a 3 month contract.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
This role will focus on leveraging standard Oracle EBS functionality, configuration changes, and necessary extensions, with a strong emphasis on how ASCP can be strategically utilised to automate existing processes and drive significant efficiencies.
- In-depth Analysis: Thoroughly analyse existing inventory management work instructions and related documentation across the enterprise.
- Process Assessment: Evaluate current state business processes within inventory planning and forecasting, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Oracle EBS Expertise: Leverage expert-level knowledge of Oracle E-business Suite Inventory Management and ASCP modules to propose optimal solutions.
- To-Be Business Process Design: Develop a detailed "To-Be" business process for inventory planning and forecasting, clearly outlining proposed changes and improvements.
- Solution Options: Provide clear and concise recommendations for implementing the "To-Be" process, including:
- Optimal utilisation of standard Oracle EBS functionality.
- Necessary configuration changes within Oracle EBS.
- Identification and high-level specification of required extensions or customisations.
- ASCP Automation Strategy: Define a clear strategy for leveraging Oracle ASCP to automate relevant current work instructions and streamline inventory planning and forecasting processes.
- Efficiency Identification: Quantify and articulate the potential efficiencies and benefits (e.g., cost savings, reduced lead times, improved inventory accuracy) achievable through the proposed changes and ASCP implementation.
- Recommendation Document: Prepare a comprehensive and well-structured recommendation document detailing the current state assessment, the proposed "To-Be" business process, solution options, the ASCP automation strategy, and anticipated efficiencies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and potential challenges to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Extensive Oracle EBS Experience: Proven expertise in Oracle E-business Suite (EBS) Inventory Management modules (e.g., Inventory planning and controls), Order Management and procurement.
- ASCP Mastery: Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP), including configuration, implementation, and optimisation.
- Inventory Planning & Forecasting Expertise: Strong subject matter expertise in inventory planning methodologies, forecasting techniques, and supply chain best practices within a large enterprise environment.
- Business Process Analysis: Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose effective solutions.
- Solution Design: Experience in designing and documenting "To-Be" business processes and identifying appropriate system solutions (standard functionality, configuration, extensions).
- Automation Expertise: Proven ability to identify opportunities for process automation and leverage technology (specifically ASCP) to achieve it.
- Documentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and professional recommendation documents.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with business users and technical teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
- Experience working within a large, complex enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with other Oracle Supply Chain Management modules (e.g., Order Management, Purchasing).
- Experience with data and process analysis.
