Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software-oriented professional in the Northwich area to develop and support core business system applications. You will implement enhancements in Oracle databases using Oracle APEX and SAP Business Objects reporting, interpret technical documentation, and coordinate IT activities across projects.

You’ll also propose technical solutions, produce clear documentation, and create/test SQL queries while planning your work streams and supporting staff via the Service Desk.

Qualifications

• Software development experience and knowledge of development methodologies.
• Relational databases knowledge with SQL.
• Experience in design and implementation of systems or applications.
• Ability to create test plans from user stories/journeys.
• Ability to test using test plans and document outcomes clearly.
• Experience in designing, proposing and implementing software.
• Desirable Linux/UNIX database exposure.
• SQL Server or Oracle database knowledge.
• Oracle APEX knowledge.
• JavaScript knowledge.
• Unit testing experience.
• SAP Business Objects or Crystal Reports knowledge.

Job description

• Responsible for the development, support and exploitation of the Bank’s core business system applications.
• Carrying out development, testing and implementation of software enhancements in an Oracle database, using Oracle APEX and SAP Business Object reporting.
• Coordinate IT business information/activities including interpretation of technical documentation.
• Recommending solutions for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.
• Producing good quality documentation.
• Write and understand database queries using SQL.
• Plan and manage your project work-streams.
• Supporting members of staff with their general IT support issues via Service Desk requests.

Requirements

• Software development experience including knowledge of development methodologies.
• Relational database knowledge and experience, including SQL.
• Experience of system or application design and implementation.
• Ability to create test plans from user stories/journeys.
• Ability to use the test plans to perform accurate system testing and write concise but good quality documentation of the outcome.
• Experience of designing, proposing and implementing software.
• Desirable: Exposure to databases in a Linux/UNIX environment.
• Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database knowledge.
