Job description

Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: Remote, UK

Duration: 6 months+

Job Description

• Responsible for designing, building, and supporting Oracle databases, each approximately 100TB, holding over 13 billion rows, processing around 1 billion SQL statements daily. Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure these services meet standards, SLAs, and client policies.
• Participate in initiatives to improve efficiency, automation, and quality. Analyze daily operations for automation opportunities, report gaps, and standardize processes.
• Provide 24/7 support, including on-call duties and weekend work, with compensatory time off as per HR policies.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of Oracle DBA tasks, including design, enhancements, and support.
• Manage RAC, Oracle 19c, database restoration, and troubleshooting.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
• Handle database backup/restore, space management, and performance tuning.
• Assist development teams with queries and issues.
• Monitor server and database health, escalate issues, and ensure system stability.
• Participate in crisis calls and problem resolution to maximize customer satisfaction.

Must have strong experience with Oracle 19c RDBMS, RAC, Data Guard on Linux, and experience with RedHat Linux environments. Knowledge of Delphix is a plus.
