A leading company is seeking an Oracle DBA to design, build, and support Oracle databases in a remote capacity. With databases of 100TB and over 13 billion rows, you'll play a crucial role in a DevOps team to ensure critical services operate efficiently. The position requires strong expertise in Oracle database management, including installation, performance tuning, and crisis resolution.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Oracle (v19c) RDBMS, RAC, and Data Guard on Linux.
• Experience with Oracle on RedHat Linux is required; Delphix experience is a plus.

Job description

Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: Remote, UK

Duration: 6 months+

Job Description

Responsible for the design, build, and day-to-day support of Oracle databases. These databases are each 100TB in size (and growing), hold over 13 billion rows of data, and process approximately 1 billion SQL statements per day. As part of a DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with application and infrastructure SMEs to ensure these critical services meet standards. Maintain and improve SLAs and ensure compliance with client policies.

Participate actively to achieve organizational goals for efficiency, innovation, and quality. Perform proactive analysis, identify automation opportunities, report gaps, reduce incidents, and standardize processes.

Support is required 24/7, including weekends at short notice, with compensatory time off as per HR guidelines.

Responsibilities

• All aspects of Oracle DBA support, including design, build, enhancements, and 24/7 support
• Managing RAC, Oracle 19c, database restoration, troubleshooting

Must have strong experience with Oracle (v19c) RDBMS, RAC, and Data Guard on Linux, including:

• Database installation, upgrades, and patching
• Migrations (intra and inter-platform)
• Building and deploying solutions, capacity, and disaster recovery planning
• Troubleshooting incidents
• Managing tablespaces, cloning environments, backup and restore, data archival
• Assisting development with queries and issues
• Database space management, releases, and service requests
• Server and database health monitoring
• System stability maintenance
• Escalating issues promptly
• Performance tuning

Additional duties include customer service, crisis participation, and problem resolution to maximize customer satisfaction. Experience with Oracle on RedHat Linux is required; experience with Delphix is a plus.
