Job Title: Oracle DBA

Job Description
- Responsible for the design, build, and day-to-day support of Oracle databases. These databases are each 100TB in size (and growing), hold over 13 billion rows of data, and process approximately 1 billion SQL statements per day. As part of a DevOps team, you will work closely with application and infrastructure SMEs to ensure these critical services function to required standards. Maintain and improve SLAs and ensure compliance with client policies at all times.
- Actively participate to achieve organizational objectives for efficiencies, innovations, and quality delivery. Perform proactive analysis on daily work, identify areas for automation, report and follow up on process or technical gaps, reduce incidents, and standardize tasks/processes.
- Support is required 24/7, either from the office or on call, depending on business needs (usually 1 week in 4 on-call). Work on weekends (usually 1 in 4), often at short notice. Compensation is provided as per HR guidelines.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of Oracle DBA support including design, build, enhancements (e.g., automation), and 24/7 support.
- RAC, Oracle 19c, Database Restoration, Troubleshooting.
Must have strong experience with Oracle (v19c) RDBMS, RAC, and Data Guard on a Linux platform, including:
- Database software installation, upgrades, and patching.
- Database migrations (intra-platform or inter-platform).
- Building and deploying solutions, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
- Troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Managing tablespaces (create, alter, drop).
- Cloning environments.
- Database backup and restore activities.
- Data archival activities.
- Supporting development queries and issues.
- Database space management.
- Implementing releases and service requests.
- Server and database health monitoring.
- Ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently.
- Timely escalation of issues to the team lead.
- Database performance tuning.
Additional responsibilities include customer service, problem resolution, crisis management from an Oracle DB perspective, and active participation in problem-solving to maximize customer satisfaction. Experience with Oracle databases on RedHat Linux is required; experience with Delphix is a plus.
