Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA for a full-time role. You will administer Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c), monitor performance, and participate in DR/HA implementations in a large production environment.

The role requires strong hands-on skills with GoldenGate, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, and Linux/Unix, plus on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Experience with GoldenGate, Exadata, RAC, ASM, Data Guard.
• RMAN backup/recovery experience and OEM knowledge.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; on-call readiness.
• Experience in banking/financial services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c).
• Manage Oracle GoldenGate replication (unidirectional and bidirectional).
• Administer Exadata infrastructure and databases.
• Configure and troubleshoot RAC, ASM, Data Guard environments.
• Perform installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, cloning, and refreshes.
• Monitor performance using AWR/ASH/ADDM and OEM; resolve bottlenecks.
• Manage backup/recovery strategies with RMAN and DR testing.
• Implement HA/DR solutions with Data Guard.
• Support production incidents, service requests, and problem management.
• Collaborate with app, infra, and cloud teams during deployments.
• Automate routine DBA tasks with Shell scripting and Oracle utilities.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Oracle Database environments (11g/12c/19c/21c).

• Manage and maintain Oracle GoldenGate replication (Uni-directional and Bi-directional environments).

• Administer and support Oracle Exadata infrastructure and databases.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments.

• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migration, cloning, and refresh activities.

• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OEM.

• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and perform disaster recovery testing.

• Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Data Guard.

• Support production incidents, service requests, problem management, and root cause analysis.

• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams during deployments and migrations.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell Scripting and Oracle utilities.

• Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices.
