Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited is seeking a proactive Exadata specialist to lead production support for high‑performance Oracle databases in a global 24x7 environment. The role focuses on Exadata health checks, migrations, resource management, and patching/upgrades, with strong emphasis on automation and scripting.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of Oracle DBA production support with Exadata.
• Demonstrable experience managing high-performance databases in production.
• Experience with Exadata on OCI or Oracle Cloud@Customer.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (Python/Ansible).
• Experience with CRS/GRID Infrastructure and Dataguard.

Responsibilities

• Perform Exadata health checks, migrations, and resource management.
• Handle patching/ upgrades and performance tuning for Exadata environments.
• Conduct backup and recovery using RMAN, datapump and export/import.
• Manage databases with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Support a 24x7 global operations model and coordinate with offshore teams.

We are looking for a proactive Top-notch Exadata specialist Experience in RAC, ASM, Dataguard, Infiniband switch, storage cell and experience in Exadata health check, migration, resource management and patching/upgradeand expertise in database performance tuning Expertise in Backup and recovery basic.

This is fixed term contract role with HCLTech.

We are open for remote role with 6 days onsite in a month.

Expected qualification and critical experiences

• 10-12 years of production support experience as Oracle DBA with at least 6 years of strong experience on Exadata platform
• Demonstrable experience of managing high-performance, high-capacity databases in a critical production environment.
• Experience with Exadata, Oracle@OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), or Oracle Cloud@Customer
• Experience with Automation, including:
• Python 2.7 / 3.x Development
• Ansible Playbook Development
• Knowledge of database scripting and automation technologies
• troubleshooting (Break/Fix) and performance tuning skills
• Experience in Clusterware (GRID Infrastructure) - CRS management and configuration Skilled in Oracle ASM and Dataguard administration
• Expertise in SQL & Database Level performance tuning skills Expertise in backup and recovery and migration using RMAN, datapump and export/import.
• Experience in maintenance and management of databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Experience on Solaris, Linux and AIX OS including strong shell scripting skills. Willingness to work in 24*7 Global support model.
• Aid development teams for analyzing issues.
• Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic & analytical skills.
• Excellent communication & coordination skills is required. Strong initiative and sense of ownership.
• Expert knowledge of database scripting and automation technology
• Experience working with offshore vendors Builds positive working relationships, works collaboratively with other team members, and is a team player.
