Job Description:

This role involves designing, building, and supporting Oracle databases, each of approximately 100TB, with over 13 billion rows of data, processing around 1 billion SQL statements daily. You will work within a DevOps team, collaborating closely with application and infrastructure SMEs to ensure service standards, SLAs, and compliance are maintained. Responsibilities include proactive analysis, automation, incident management, and supporting 24/7 operations, including on-call duties and weekend work.

  • Extensive experience with Oracle (v19c) RDBMS, RAC, and Data Guard on Linux.
  • Database installation, upgrades, patches, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Backup, restore, data archival, and space management.
  • Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scripting.
  • Supporting development teams and participating in crisis management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with remote teams and manage multiple complex projects.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, including on-call and weekend duties.

Contract: PAYE Agency worker (Inside IR35) - £575/day. Hybrid role based in Sheffield. Occasional on-call and weekend work, with compensatory time off as per HR policies.
