Job description

The EMEA Database Services Team consists of 3 core areas: SQL Server, Sybase, and Oracle. The group provides specialist DBA support to all Bank of America Merrill Lynch European businesses, including Private Client, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, and Research.

The team is looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to support critical databases within the EMEA Oracle DBA team. The team manages over 700 Oracle instances featuring Oracle 19c/23c databases with RAC, ASM, Exadata, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle GoldenGate, OEM, and Oracle OID, running on Exadata and Linux. Based in Camberley, the EMEA Oracle Application DBA team comprises highly motivated individuals working within a global technology organization to support critical banking and markets applications. The team aims to maintain a global perspective while addressing regional requirements, providing innovative database solutions, and offering opportunities for learning and growth.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Addressing critical production Oracle database issues promptly.
  2. Managing change requests and end-user queries for the primary databases.
  3. Applying ITIL procedures and best practices.
  4. Working within a regulated or corporate environment, preferably in financial services.
  5. Managing Oracle 19c/23c databases on ASM/RAC on Linux/Exadata.
