Oracle Cloud HCM - Applications Specialist:

The Applications Team at Lewisham Council is passionate about supporting and advancing the council's IT systems, directly improving the services provided to Lewisham residents. Our team combines Portfolio Managers, Application Specialists and Application Analysts who work together seamlessly to put the user at the heart of delivery.

As an Application Specialist for Oracle Cloud HCM, you will be at the heart of our IT & Digital Service playing a crucial role in planning and implementing system changes, overseeing medium-scale projects, and managing complex system issues through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigating complex Oracle HCM incidents raised by our business users through to fix and resolution.
  • Managing system developments and changes from specification through to implementation.
  • Coordinating feeder system integrations into Oracle Cloud within the PaaS solution.
  • Overseeing Oracle Cloud quarterly updates and other essential maintenance
  • Working in collaboration with our 3rd party technical support provider
  • Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on best use of Oracle Cloud.
  • Line management of team members.

What we’re looking for:

Detailed knowledge and understanding of Local Authority IT functions and requirements

  • Excellent functional knowledge and experience in the use and configuration of key Oracle Cloud modules including Core HR, Payroll, Absence Management, OTL, ORC and BI Publisher
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Local Authority IT functions and requirements
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of all IT disciplines
  • Knowledge of key information systems and processes and awareness of the contribution of these systems to performance management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels with clients, colleagues, partners and external organisations.
  • Analytical skills, ability to interpret complex legislation and to resolve complex problems
  • Staff management skills

Location

The job is remote (UK based only) /hybrid but there may be occasional need to come to the office at Laurence House for team meetings or workshops.

Salary

£53,634 - £55,710 per annum (PO5)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
