An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing independent practice in Bramhall. We’re looking for an individual ready to step into a role with immense potential for professional growth and specialisation.

We are a small, boutique-style practice with signifi cant aspirations – to become the leading dry eye, myopia management, and fashionable frame centre of Bramhall and beyond.

You will also receive:
  • 9.00 – 5.00 (you will be required to work alternate Saturdays & one late Tuesday per week)

About the Role

We invest heavily in cutting-edge technology and foster a strong learning culture, ensuring our team is always at the forefront of optometric care. As part of the prestigious Hakim Group, you’ll benefit from broader opportunities and a network of excellence.

Initially, your focus will be on delivering our enhanced eye examinations, with 35-40 mins testing times, single clinic testing, utilising our comprehensive suite of advanced diagnostic equipment. You will be expected to master and regularly use technology such as:


● Medmont Topography
● OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
● Oculera VR Visual Fields
● A full suite of Dry Eye Technologies (including ScoutPro osmolarity testing and BlephEx)


We are committed to providing full training and support for you to specialise in our core areas of expertise – Myopia Management, Ortho-K and Advanced Dry Eye Treatments (including Lumenis OptiLight IPL)


Key Responsibilities:


● Conduct comprehensive and enhanced eye examinations, spending the necessary time with each patient to understand their unique needs.
● Utilise and interpret fi ndings from advanced diagnostic equipment.
● Provide clear, honest, and warm communication, explaining fi ndings and solutions to patients with empathy.
● Make appropriate recommendations for optical solutions, advanced treatments, and referrals, always prioritising patient outcomes.
● Collaborate effectively with our dedicated support team (Helen, Rachel, Wendy) to ensure a seamless patient journey.
● Actively participate in our learning and development programmes.


Skills and experience:


● Experienced Professional: You will likely have a few years of experience as a qualified Optometrist, or be a highly experienced professional seeking a new challenge.
Eager to Learn: While existing specialist skills are a bonus, a strong desire and demonstrated ability to learn new things are essential. You will be keen to undertake further dry eye qualifications, myopia management courses, and attend conferences (all funded by us!).
Patient-Centric: You believe in building genuine rapport with patients and understand the importance of unhurried, thorough consultations.
Proactive & Collaborative: You’re a team player who takes initiative and thrives in a supportive, close-knit environment.
Commercially Aware: You understand the importance of making appropriate and effective recommendations that benefit both the patient and the practice.
