Your Role

A typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, whilst helping to maintain standards in the department. We offer a fantastic CPD programme and protected time for further accreditations funded by Asda, ensuring you have the full training package to meet the evolving eye care needs of our customers. We support your development to reach your full potential, with access to in-store, regional, and home office teams for expert advice and support.

About You

At Asda, service and creating a memorable experience for our customers are key. You will use your clinical skills and passion to help achieve this. Working alongside an Optical Manager, you'll play a vital role in creating an environment that combines clinical and operational excellence. By collaborating with the wider team, you'll support coaching, training, and developing new patient services to offer current and accessible services tailored to customer needs. You will be:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC and registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months, supported and funded by us)
  • On track to meet statutory points for CPD
  • Able to use your skills and passion to deliver a memorable customer experience
  • Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
