A very exciting opportunity has become available for an Optometrist on a part-time, permanent basis with a high-end independent chain based in the Southwest of England. They are looking to recruit within their central Somerset practice, which has been recently refurbished!

This independent high street optician, who has a fantastic reputation for their high-quality service, is looking to add to their team by recruiting an Optometrist to work on a part-time basis in their central Somerset practice, a minimum of 3 days a week with alternate Saturdays. NO SUNDAYS OR BANK HOLIDAYS.

An enthusiastic and committed individual is required to join and work on a part-time basis in their Central Somerset-based practice within the group. Located in excellent locations, this Optician’s attractive practices are equipped to the highest standard, fully kitted out with the latest instruments and equipment such as OCT and Optomap. They have 2 testing rooms in this practice.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Optometrist – open to the amount of experience. What’s important is your ability to build rapport and converse with patients, as they pride themselves on excellent customer care.

Requirements of the Optometrist

• Must be GOC registered
• Open to newly qualified or experienced
• A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
• A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optometrist

• For your efforts, a competitive package is on offer:
• Up to £65,000 basic FTE
• Hours are 9-5pm, ideally 3 days a week, but will consider full-time!
• Professional fees covered
• 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays
• Sociable hours with no Sundays, Bank Holidays, or late nights
• Company pension scheme
• Opportunities to gain higher qualifications e.g. Independent Prescribing
