Your Role

A typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, whilst helping to maintain standards in the department. At Asda, we are passionate and committed to providing our Optometrists with all the training they need to fulfill their role and enhance their skills. We offer a fantastic CPD programme and protected time for our Optometrists to complete further accreditations funded by Asda, ensuring you have the full training package to meet the evolving eye care needs of our customers.

We focus on developing and supporting you to reach your full potential. You will have access to in-store, regional, and home office teams for support in all aspects of your role, whether clinical or service-related. There is always someone available to offer expert advice and support.

About You

At Asda, service and creating a memorable customer experience are key. You will use your clinical skills and passion to help achieve this. Working with an Optical Manager (a qualified Dispensing Optician), you'll play a vital role in creating an environment that combines clinical and operational excellence.

By collaborating with the wider department team, you will support coaching, training, and developing new patient services to ensure we offer current and accessible services to meet customer needs.

You will be:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda - funded and supported by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Passionate about delivering a memorable customer experience
  • Enthusiastic about developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
