Job summary

Specsavers in Treorchy is seeking an ambitious Optometrist to deliver high-quality eye examinations and contact lens services within a supportive store team.

The practice features modern diagnostic equipment and clear pathways for professional development, including higher accreditations and potential equity opportunities, with a warm, patient-centred environment across 9am–5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Qualifications

• Registered with General Optical Council (GOC).
• Willing to develop clinically and professionally, including higher qualifications.

Responsibilities

Specsavers in Treorchy is looking for an ambitious and talented Optometrist to join their thriving store. The practice is appointed with modern technical diagnostic equipment; perfect for those seeking clinical advancement, utilising higher accreditations or those hoping to attain an equity shareholding in the future. This is a great practice for anyone wanting to develop their career, both clinically and professionally. Colleague development takes centre stage whether you want to obtain higher accreditations such as IP or are interested in becoming a director yourself one day. In October 2023, a new contract for the delivery of eye care services in the community came into force in Wales - Wales General Opthalmic Services (WGOS). Under the new regulataions, optometrirsts will be able to fully utilse their professional higher accreditations when delivering eye care at primary level.

Non-WGOS registered Optometrists can contact HEIW at for information on mandatory training and NWSSP at for information on registration.
