Job description

If you’re a qualified Optometrist and are looking for a Monday – Friday role with NO late nights and enjoy being out and about then this would be the ideal role for you.

If you are looking for a change away from the high street and want more diversity and freedom in your working day, then this is the ideal role for you. It will allow you the opportunity to put your skills to the test and make a real difference to the quality of a person’s life, whilst helping and supporting a local community. A sympathetic approach is required as well as an excellent patient manner due to the nature of the role.

– Up to £70,000 basic
– 5 weeks holiday
– No weekends
– Out of practice
Responsibilities of the Optometrist

– You will be covering the South of Wales including all surrounding areas of Swansea from Kidwelly to Bridgend.
– You will be aiming to conduct 9-10 tests per day.
– Be able to liaise with the Optical Assistant throughout the day and meet at first venue as well as planning your journey together or separately.
– Providing a clinical and caring service to all of your patients, some patients may need more care than others and so require a good chair side manner and patience.

Requirements of the Optometrist

– You will need to be GOC qualified and up to date with all CET points.
– Be able to work 3-5 days, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30.
– You will ideally have 1-year+ of experience as a qualified Optometrist either in practice or a domiciliary setting.
As an Optometrist you will spend your time on various aspects of meeting your customers’ needs precisely and competently with high levels of knowledge and strong competencies. They require someone with an excellent chair side manner and clinically driven. You will be able to adapt your testing times to the specific needs of the patient with strong handover ability to ensure the customer’s needs are taken care of as well as the needs of the business.

Compensation for the Optometrist

Salary package is competitive up to £70,000 basic + 5-weeks holiday and the opportunity to develop your career either in more of a commercial/ management aspect or more clinically by taking on extra courses such as low vision.
– Monday to Friday – open to full or part time
– 9:00 – 5:30
– Up to £70,000 (dependent on salary)
