We’re looking for a hard-working, passionate Optometrist ready to provide our customers with the best eyecare in the business. At Specsavers St Austell, you’ll join a community focused team full of people from all walks of life and all levels of experience. So, as long as you’re a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, whoever you are, you can make a difference here.
Our Store
Based in St Austell, our store boasts 4 test tooms with all the latest equipment, utilised by our 25 members of the team.

St Austell is the perfect base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. Home to renowned attractions such as the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, you’ll never have to look too far for something to do. With some of the counties finest beaches, including Carlyon Bay, Par Sands and Petewan Sands, and the pretty harbour towns of Fowey and Mevagissey, within short driving distance, St Austell really is the place to be in time for Summer!
St Austell is only 15 a minute drive from Truro, 1 hour from Plymouth and is on the mainline to London Paddington. Newquay airport is only 30 minutes down the road, with direct flights to London, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Scotland and Ireland.

We do need you to have a few skills to get started in this role.Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date). You’ll also need to be confident and passionate about providing the best customer service and work well as part of a team.
