Job summary

Optical Express is the UK’s leading private provider of laser eye and cataract care, seeking an optometrist to serve patients from our St Albans and Stevenage clinics. You will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver a full spectrum of eye care services, including pre/post-operative assessments and telemedicine consultations.

The role offers the chance to work with ophthalmologists, participate in YAG capsulotomy services, and benefit from extensive staff benefits and ongoing development

Responsibilities

• Pre and post-operative consultations for refractive and cataract surgery patients
• Providing clinical support to ophthalmologists during refractive surgery
• Being part of the YAG capsulotomy service and delivering these procedures
• Providing Essential and Advanced Eye examinations for patients
• Communicate with and treat patients via telemedicine
• Provide clinical support to the hub administrative team where required
• In the referral triage team, reviewing incoming referrals and allocating to the appropriate ophthalmology clinic

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an optometrist to provide care to patients from our clinic in St Albans and Stevenage.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside experienced eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, and play a crucial role in the delivery of a diverse range of clinical eye care services to our patients.

At Optical Express, no two days are the same. Your role will be varied and can include:

• Pre and post-operative consultations for our refractive and cataract surgery patients
• Providing clinical support to our ophthalmologists during refractive surgery.
• Being part of our multi-disciplinary YAG capsulotomy service, delivering these procedures.
• Providing Essential and Advanced Eye examinations for our patients.
• Communicate with and treat patients via telemedicine.
• Provide clinical support to the hub administrative team where required.
• In the referral triage team, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming referrals from optometrists, GPs and other primary care routes, allocating them to the most appropriate ophthalmology clinic.
