Job summary

IC Resources is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to design precision opto-mechanical systems for advanced optical and photonic applications in Oxford. The role combines mechanical design, optics, tolerance analysis from CAD to prototyping, alignment, testing and production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in opto-mechanical design and assembly.
• Ability to translate optical requirements into mechanical designs.
• Experience with precision tolerance analysis and alignment.
• Familiarity with prototype builds, testing and debug.
• Strong collaboration with manufacturing teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Zemax (or similar optical software).
• Background in mechanical, optical or opto-mechanical engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

An opportunity to design and develop precision opto-mechanical systems for advanced optical and photonic applications.

This is a hands-on role combining mechanical design, optics, tolerance analysis and manufacturing, taking concepts from CAD through to prototyping, alignment, testing and

production.

The role includes:

• Designing precision opto-mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Using Zemax for optical modelling and tolerance analysis
• Translating optical requirements into practical mechanical designs
