Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary development team near Cambridge. You will design systems incorporating lasers, lenses, and cameras, working closely with electronics, software and AI engineers to move from concept through verification to production-ready hardware.

The ideal candidate has a 1st class degree in Physics or Electronics, hands-on optics experience, and a drive to take initiative.

Qualifications

• First-class degree in Physics, Electronics, or similar with strong optics theory.
• Hands-on optical engineering experience with lasers, lenses and beam paths.
• UK work permission and ability to obtain UK security clearance.

• Design systems with lasers, lenses and cameras.
• Collaborate with electronics, software and AI colleagues from concept to production-readiness.
• Translate theoretical knowledge into practical engineering solutions.
