Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit a Business Development Manager – North for a field-based optical sales role covering the Chester, Crewe, Derby, Llandudno, Stockport, Stoke-on-Trent, Shrewsbury, Telford territory. Offering a salary from £45,000 to £48,000, plus up to £10,000 bonus and an electric car and benefits, this position suits an accomplished sales professional with strong commercial judgement, relationship-building ability and a record of achieving targets.
Working within the Sales department, you will manage customers across a defined geographical territory, acting as the principal point of contact and developing plans to deliver sustainable sales growth. The role involves extensive customer visits, supported by telephone and virtual engagement, with responsibility for introducing products, communicating clinical and technical information, and positioning services effectively.
You will deliver training for retail staff, coordinate clinical education with Professional Services colleagues, and build relationships with Regional Managers and account representatives. The position also includes representing the business at seminars, exhibitions and meetings, with occasional evening, weekend, overnight and international travel. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with approximately 80% of time spent in the field.

Computer literacy, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, is essential.
