Job summary

Specsavers Wakefield is looking for an Optical Assistant Apprentice who loves helping people and wants a career in retail and optics. You’ll welcome customers, book eye tests, pre-screen patients, provide style advice and measure frames as part of a hands-on apprenticeship with full-time pay.

The role pays £8.20 per hour, 40 hours per week (one weekend day), with pension auto-enrolment, Specsavers Perks, Headspace access, extra birthday leave and family sick pay.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers into store to create a friendly shopping experience.
• Booking in eye tests and pre-screening patients.
• Providing style advice and helping customers select frames.
• Measuring frames and assisting with eyewear fittings.
• Taking phone calls and handling basic store inquiries.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.

• Individuals with GSCE Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), or an equivalent level qualification
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
