Optical Assistant

Location: South Sheffield (brand new store – launching soon)

Salary: Up to £28,000 (DOE) + Bonus

Hours: Full-time – 8:30-5:00 weekdays | 8:30-12:30 Saturdays (some flexibility)

We’re The Eye Place – a high-end independent optical group with a reputation for style, substance, and seriously good service. We’re opening a brand new, state-of-the-art store in Fulwood, and we’re looking for a top-notch Optical Assistant to be one of the founding members of the team.

This is your chance to get in at the very beginning and help shape a practice the right way – focused on patient care, clinical excellence, and premium eyewear.

What You’ll Do:

1. Deliver warm, professional service with a premium feel
2. Support pre-screening using the latest kit – OCT and Optomap
3. Assist with frame styling and lens choices for our high-value clientele
4. Help with day-to-day running and support the Optometrist and Dispensing Optician
5. Work closely with Becca (DO and acting manager) to establish practice standards and culture

We’re Looking For:

1. A confident and experienced Optical Assistant with leadership potential
2. Someone who takes initiative and has pride in doing things properly
3. Strong retail and dispensing experience in a clinical setting
4. A team player who thrives in a quality-over-quantity environment
