Offering approximately £25,500-£26,500 depending on experience and optical knowledge, this permanent position will suit someone with dispensing experience who is ready to develop their broader optical expertise.
Working onsite at the main store in Nottingham, you will support customers with dispensing and related optical services while contributing to individual daily sales. The role involves working four or five days per week across shifts operating between 08:15 and 18:00, with initial shifts more likely to begin at 08:45 or 09:30. Individual dispensing bonuses may be available, based on personal performance rather than store results. Further responsibilities may become available as the business develops, with potential progression towards becoming a Dispensing Optician.
Our client operates within the health and human services sector and is part of an established optical retail organisation. The Nottingham store is connected with other local branches and provides a structured retail grading system, with salary reflecting the successful candidate’s experience and demonstrated optical knowledge.
The employer provides development and progression opportunities, including the potential to work towards a Dispensing Optician position. The role offers a permanent appointment within a retail environment where individual dispensing performance is recognised through a possible personal sales bonus.
The successful candidate will bring dispensing experience and a sound level of optical knowledge. Strong dispensing and typing skills are relevant, although the employer will assess each applicant’s wider understanding of optics carefully.
You should be comfortable supporting customers in a retail optical setting and contributing to personal daily sales. Have clear communication, attention to detail and a customer-focused approach. A willingness to develop professionally and take on additional responsibilities as they arise will also be valuable.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Optical Advisor or dispensing professional seeking a permanent role in Nottingham, with the scope to build broader optical knowledge and potentially progress towards Dispensing Optician training. It may appeal to someone who values structured development, individual recognition and a flexible start date.
The position is based in Nottingham city centre and the city's central retail and transport links.
