Job Description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Operations Process Engineer, based onshore in Aberdeen. This is a 12-14 month PAYE contract role to cover maternity leave.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day engineering and operations support to the offshore operations team on asset work activities and/or on problems and challenges which require immediate investigation and response.
- Provide process optimisation support through data-driven prioritisation and implementation of workflows. Ensure adherence to operational discipline and safe working practices, and champion cross-shift alignment. Monitor and optimise main plant process and utilities systems, and monitor key plant process/production/environmental performance indicators, taking action to meet asset targets.
- Provide process and facilities input to engineering modifications to the existing plant, raise and evaluate opportunities and MOCs, and support key projects from kick-off to implementation and start-up. Promote operational discipline offshore and engage with onshore engineering and maintenance teams as required. Respond to HAZOP actions as needed.
- Lead the asset loss reporting process for process engineering related losses. Ensure RCA investigations, findings, and remediation actions address root causes to prevent re-occurrence effectively and sustainably.
- Support the development of quality risk assessments in asset operational risk assessments (ORM/ORAs). Provide input to cumulative risk assessments.
- Develop and deliver medium to long-term asset improvement and compliance projects, ensuring integration into asset LOF and business plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of process engineering in oil & gas process design and problem solving, with offshore/onshore production operations experience.
- Engineering degree qualification with a solid foundation in core technical areas (Chemical/Mechanical). Demonstrates project management skills and performance-driven attitude.
- Shows technical and personal leadership potential, effective team-building skills, and ability to work independently on technical issues while collaborating effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated company behaviors, capable of developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
